BIG BLUE ANNUAL PINEAPPLE HUNT -
An briefing at
The starter’s hooter sounded at 12.00 sharp, and all divers ran down the beach, donned weight belts, ran up the beach to put on BCD’s, then back down gathering mask and fins and into the water to search for the pineapples. Twenty minutes later I was out of the water proudly in possession of the “Golden Pineapple”, the major prize pineapple. Brian followed with his numbered pineapple, and Sean emerged almost the last diver out with a pineapple that was handed to him by another diver.
Prize giving saw all divers receive very generous winnings of dive bags (Sean), knives (Brian), T shirts (Brian), catch-bags and goodies. For the golden pineapple I received a Merino lined one piece suit worth $900!! Awesome Big Blue!!
Next year I’m sure we will have a good turn out to support this event. Big thanks to Mark, Mario and the crew at Big Blue for running a great event.
Happy diving
