PORT UNDERWOOD – Sunday - April 18th 2004

On a dark murky Sunday morning we met at Big Blue, loaded up the boats and vehicles and took off for Port Underwood. The sky got brighter towards Picton and it was great to see the sun break through when we arrived at the launching spot. We quickly sped around to Glasgow Bay in flat conditions with no wind.

All divers were surfaced with booty in their catch bags on the first dive. It was good to see many small crays about and to be escorted around by rather large cod also. With the wind picking up as forecast we headed back to Underwood in rather lumpy conditions.

After looking at several small spots in a couple of short dives, Angus’s crew headed back to the ramp in Oyster Bay. Mark, Sean & I headed for spot “X” further out and found feelers galore, mostly small ones and many shucked shells about. We grabbed our limit and headed back to meet up with the rest of the crew for our debrief at the Rai Tavern. Thanks to those who provided the cars and boats.

Cheers Nigel
